Directional Driller/Locator (Ignace, Ontario)

Job description


Experience with horizontal/directional drilling an asset but will train the right candidate - compensation based on experience
Must posses a class 5 or G class (Ontario). Class 3 (Manitoba) or D class (Ontario) considered an asset

 

Driller Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground conduit and cable
Ensures safety of utilities and other underground facilities
Follows company safety rules
Setup and cleanup of work site
Operates construction equipment to company and manufacturer specifications
Perform restoration work as needed
Operates vehicles with trailers
Performs maintenance on equipment and any minor repairs


Locator Responsibilities:

Confirm bore path with drill operator or supervisor (including walking the bore path)
Perform job site hazard assessment
Ensures proper permits are obtained before construction or work begins
Record the depth of the tool head as required
Ensure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product
A positive attitude is a must. We are seeking a self-motivated individual that can work with minimal supervision.

 

 

Must be able to travel for prolonged periods (up to 10 days). Accommodations and per diems will be provided. Typical schedule is 8 days on, 6 days off. Typically, days are 10 hours with some overtime as needed

 

 

Accommodations will be provided by employer in Ignace, ON. Per diem will also be paid when working at site.
